Health Service Information

Hello parents,
 IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION:
For information on Minnesota's School Immunization Law and the immunizations that are required for school, please click on the following link: http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/immunize/arekidseng.pdf
All required immunizations must be in your child's health file in order for them to attend school. Exceptions to this are when a conscientious objection or medical excemption is signed. These forms are available from the Licensed School Nurse and must be notarized to be valid.

INFLUENZA INFORMATION:
Weekly influenza activity and school outbreaks can be monitored on the Minnesota Department of Health website at the following link: http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/flu/stats/index.html

The Paynesville School District will continue to follow the CDC guidelines found in the booklet titled “Preparing for the Flu (including the H1N1 flu): a Communication Toolkit for Schools (Grades K-12)”.  The link for this booklet can be found on the Paynesville School Website at  http://www.paynesvilleschools.com/

In order to prevent the spread of influenza-like illness, we continue to ask that parents screen their children daily for fever, sore throat and cough.  If your child has a fever AND one of the other symptoms, keep your child home for at least 24 hours after his or her fever is gone without fever reducing medicine. Your child should feel well enough to participate in school before returning.  If you have questions about your child’s health or symptoms, call your child’s healthcare provider.  If your child has been diagnosed by a healthcare provider with a different disease, such as strep, follow your healthcare provider’s recommendation and school policy for when to return to school.
