Superintendent Search Process
The Paynesville School Board recently began the process to search for a new Superintendent of Schools. To assist them with this effort, the Board has enlisted the help of a search consultant. At a recent Board meeting, the Board Search Committee presented a plan to the full Board that outlined the process and the timeline expected to be followed.

In an effort to get as much feedback as possible as the search moves forward, the Board has asked the consultant to meet with staff and community members to gain insight from those groups into the particular skills and characteristics the Board should seek in the new superintendent. The consultant will meet with these groups by mid-February and compile suggestions made into a report to the Board.

The community meeting with the search consultant is scheduled to be held on Wednesday evening, February 8 beginning at 7:30 in the Seminar Room of the Paynesville High School. In an hour-long session, participants will engage in small and large group discussions as a list of superintendent search attributes is developed. All interested individuals are encouraged to attend.

As the search process moves forward, the Board Search Committee is expected to work with a community advisory team. That group will help screen candidates and make recommendations to the Board regarding candidates. Community members who might be interested in serving on this advisory group should attend the February 8 meeting and/or contact Board Search Committee Chair Dave Currens through the District Office. A similar team will be formed from the staff. These teams, along with the Board itself, will interview finalists in mid-April. The Board hopes to have the new superintendent join the district on July 1.

Keep the Quality will be sponsoring free childcare for parents with young children during the public meeting on Feb 8.  Childcare will be supervised by an adult and provided by Middle School/High School students in the High School, Room #114, beginning at 7:15 p.m.  No prior registration is required.
