Believe it or not the new school year is about to begin, I am excited to welcome back all our students and staff. Our staff set several achievement goals last year. The focus has been to realign our classroom curriculum to meet the state standards, improve student learning experiences and to do more non-fiction reading in all classes. This year’s MCAII test data is showing significant progress. Student academic growth is taking place across the board. PAMS and PAHS received a proficiency rating in our AYP status this year, demonstrating we are moving in the right direction and need to continue to build on what we have started. I would like to congratulate and encourage our students, parents and staff to continue to challenge each other this upcoming year.
There will be a few new faces this year in our secondary building. Teresa Bogie and Nicole Humbert are joining our support services department and Jesse Rasmussen will be joining our science team.
Once again we will be opening our Paynesville Pride apparel on-line store. It will feature clothing for your favorite Bulldog sport team and general Bulldog gear. This fundraiser will help provide transportation and special events for HS and MS students during the school year. The store will be open for approximately two weeks starting in August. Information will be available at registration. Our Paynesville Pride committee is looking for volunteers to help with the managing of this program. If you are interested please leave your name in the school office.
Our students and staff are looking into organizing a service learning project this fall. We hope to organize a day were all students would help rake and clean-up Paynesville neighborhoods. To make this vision become real we do need volunteers to help with the planning, transportation and organizing of this activity. If you can help please let us know in the school office (320) 243-3761 ext. 3153.
We appreciate your help and sharing of your time and talents with all our school projects during the school year.
